Valentines - what does it mean to you? (Photo Giveaway)

Shutterfly asks me: What does Valentine's mean to you?  Well, when I was younger (a teenager) I thought it meant being with a man and was special because he sent me flowers and a balloon to school.  I was not left out in the "Love" department.  I did not want to be one of those envious girl off to the side that got nothing.  But now, I look back and think, how foolish!  Yes, it is nice to get flowers and a balloon or a stuffed animal and chocolates, but Valentines means much more to me now that I am older (we will not say how much older).
I love my Family everyday and I love Valentines because it is a day that my children flood me with hugs and kisses and the handmade cards and hearts made at school and at home.  My hubby is not a very openly emotional guy, but on Valentines he does open up more and shows his love for me, and even though I do not mind not getting a gift, he gets me one every year.  It is nothing big, but he started a tradition with our first Valentines together to buy me a stuffed animal and has gotten me one every year after that.  They are not always bears, sometimes frogs (I love frogs).  They are all cute and I love them (but running out of places to put them.)

Anyways, to me, Valentines Day is a day to show the ones you really love and adore just how much they mean to you!  Whether it is through a gift, words or affection, they know how much you care.
